another fun halloween party
I’m always surprised how quickly Halloween approaches after school starts in the fall! We decided to have a little halloween party on the weekend to celebrate with friends. It was fun to eat treats, play games, make a few crafts, and enjoy all the halloween silliness that comes with it!
For decor - I made a big balloon display with peach, orange and white balloons, and a simple streamer backdrop behind the table. I LOVED these fun ghost plates from A Little Confetti (the sunglasses?!) and of course these BOO plates too!
I made Lauren’s butterfly wings for her costume, and Ethan wore blue overalls and a yellow shirt he already had for his minion costume - we just picked up the goggles. I like to put together simple/DIY “indoor” costumes that the kids can wear comfortably to school/dances/parties etc, and then a warmer outdoor costume for trick or treating!

Over the past 5 years I have loved setting up a little Halloween party at home for my kids (sometimes we invite friends, sometimes it’s just us!) I always try to lean into ‘cute’ halloween - happy ghosts, cheery pumpkins, silly skeletons, or adding a pink, peach and purple to the traditional colour scheme. But this year I decided to stay true to the ‘black, white and orange' halloween decor, and go with a more vintage-inspired look that I think turned out so cute!
