BOO Playdough Kits

For our Halloween Party this year, I knew I wanted to make little BOO playdough kits for the guests - I knew it would be a cute activity to do at the party, as well as something they could take home with them.

Inspired by my incredibly creative friend @alexandrajoywig, I used these white meal prep containers from the dollar store (these are similar) for the kits. The clear lid is perfect, and the little compartments work so well to corral the little sensory objects!

I found little wooden halloween cut-outs, bat and spider rings, peach-coloured rocks, big googley eyes and wooden letters (I painted them pink, white, peach and black to match our colour scheme!) from the dollar store. I included a few little popsicle sticks, and mini plastic spoons we well. I also used pink cupcake liners to help keep the items organized in the largest compartment.

For the playdough, I used my favourite go-to recipe, made 1 batch and divided it into 4 parts to make different colours for each of the kids (peach, pink, plain white + light pink). Before packaging them up in plastic wrap, I rolled them in pink glitter!

My dad actually made a bunch of little rolling pins from a 1” dowel. He cut them down to about 6” long, sanded the edges smooth and finished them with a food-safe sealer. They work really well for little hands, and it was nice to have one for each of the kids

I made these little labels for each container - you can download and print them below to add to you own spooky BOO playdough kits!
