Over the past 5 years I have loved setting up a little Halloween party at home for my kids (sometimes we invite friends, sometimes it’s just us!) I always try to lean into ‘cute’ halloween - happy ghosts, cheery pumpkins, silly skeletons, or adding a pink, peach and purple to the traditional colour scheme. But this year I decided to stay true to the ‘black, white and orange' halloween decor, and go with a more vintage-inspired look that I think turned out so cute!
Read MoreSince I have only ever hosted children’s parties - when my sisters and I decided to plan a party for my parents’ 65 birthdays, I’ll admit I was a little lost when it came to decor and styling! I didn’t want it to feel cheesy or childish, but I also didn’t want to under-do it, as we were inviting a lot of people and we really wanted it to feel special! So if you find yourself in a similar spot, I hope this post is helpful!
Read MoreLauren and I love coming up with little catch-phrases for her parties (and we love when they rhyme!) so DANCE&SHINE was such a fun way to celebrate her 9th birthday! When I started looking for places to host her party (last year her party was at our house, so I knew we needed to change it up and book a fun venue this time!) I stumbled upon a fun new local dance studio - Artist Avenue - and this is where the theme kind of created itself, because Artist Avenue happens to be home of hip hop! And what better way to combine a dance party with turning 9…adding in a little 90’s hip hop vibes!

We hosted the party at the park beside our house - it has a fun new play structure and lots of green space and trees (and not to mention easy to set up at since we don't have to haul things very far!)

Read MoreOne of my favourite childhood memories is ironing napkins for my grandma and setting the table for each and every meal. She had drawers full of tablecloths and napkins and she’d let me pick out whatever I wanted! This brunch table reminds me a little of being at my grandma’s farm for Easter - classic, inviting and all things springtime!
Read MoreI wasn’t originally going to plan anything for St. Patrick’s day this year, but Lauren convinced me and I’m glad she did! I threw this together during Drew’s nap using things I already had - digging out a few things from my party bin, made a quick sign using my cricut and some leftover cardstock on a wooden board I’ve had for years!
Read MoreI love making things for my kid’s birthday parties and little festive celebrations. One of my favourite ways to create decor and add cute details to the party is with my Cricut machine! I have the Cricut Maker 3 - and it can do it all - it has totally opened up my imagination for things I can make! So without further adieu, here is a roundup of things I have made for parties with my trusty Cricut!

I also like to include a book, something for spring (hat, skipping rope, bug catcher, flower seeds, sidewalk chalk, bubbles), and something useful (satin pillowcase, hair product, lotion, bubble bath) - and then I normally hide a few little treats and dollar store things in there too! Instead of baskets, I found these colourful, stackable caddies!
