all of our simple diy halloween costumes

For Halloween each year - I like to do handmade costumes for our kiddos. Obviously I like being creative and crafting - but it also reminds me of how my mom used to make my sisters and my costumes each year when we were little!

I like to challenge myself to spend as little money as possible, and keep them simple!

This cinderella + gus gus costume was so cute and perfect for Lauren to wear to her dance class!

I loved making this Where the Wild Things Are costume - it was the perfect cozy sibling costume for a chilly halloween! I used a lot of clothing Lauren and Ethan already had - and modified some things she had grown out of/wore out as well!

This little honey bee costume was one that Lauren requested - and I knew it would be so cute! I made the wings with fabric, and sewed black ribbon onto the skirt of a yellow dress.

This little fox costume was so sweet and easy! The best part is that she didn’t even really know she was wearing a costume, which is a huge win for complainy two-year-olds! Again, I used felt and fabric I already had for the ears and tail, and repurposed the shorts, tshirt and vest from her closet!
