Merissa has a Bachelor of Interior Design from one of Canada’s top interior design schools at Ryerson University in Toronto. She has worked for large Architectural + Interior Design firms in Saskatoon and Calgary gaining experience in corporate, hospitality, multi-residential and institutional interior design. She is the recipient of the Interior Designers of Canada “Top 5 Under 5 Award ”, which was created to highlight the talents of designers in the first five years of their career. Submissions were judged by a national panel of interior designers and award-winning projects were displayed on the IIDEX show floor.

Currently, she spends her time at home with her two young children and is enjoying updating their 1990’s home by adding her designer touch to each room. Her next project is furnishing a small sunroom area that is a few steps above the primary bedroom area. Its cozy, sunny and could definitely use an upgrade from South Shore!

Merissa started Emelbe Design in 2018 as a creative outlet and place to formally hold all of her design work and creative pursuits. Her website features event + party designs, DIY projects, and of course, interiors design. She enjoys collaborating with brands (such as GoodMorning.com, All Out Kids, Busy Puzzle, Riot Theory + more) to produce high-quality visual content. Her photos + designs have been featured on large social media accounts such as Crate and Barrel Canada, West Coast Kids, Douglas, and EQ3.
