backyard movie night
I have had a backyard movie night on our summer bucket list for a while now and this year, we finally made it happen! My sister was visiting with her 3 boys so we thought doing with their cousins would be the perfect time!
I wanted to create a cozy setup - so I brought down our outdoor sofa and chairs to our lower deck, and hung a screen on the wall of our house across from it. I hung these cute foil popcorn balloons under the umbrella, and set out lots of blankets and pillows! Snacks are obviously the most important of a good movie night, so I decided to put together a little snack caddie for each of the kids. I found these caddies at dollarama, and added a popcorn bucket, bag of chips and candy to each one. Then I found these adorable red tumbler cups and added a yellow “movie night” decal using my cricut. I love that their was even a spot for the drink in the caddie (and a spill-proof top!) so that everyone’s could be safely stowed durning the movie.
Above the movie screen, I hung up marquee-style MOVIE NIGHT letters that I made out of paper. We watched the new Dogman movie - and the kids had a blast. Meanwhile, the grownups were able to sit beside the cozy fire and enjoy the movie from too!
